In this 2005 telefilm based on the novel by Donna VanLiere, Nathan Andrews — the boy who bought fancy shoes for his dying mother — is now a medical resident who returns to his hometown after losing a patient in surgery. Nathan takes a job as a coach at an elementary school and finds renewed happiness in his budding relationship with a teacher named Meghan and their friendship with a little boy named Charlie — until Meghan and Charlie each fall seriously ill, leaving Nathan questioning his faith in God. Rob Lowe reprises his role as Robert Layton from The Christmas Shoes.

This was such an awesome movie. Be sure you have lots of tissues handy. A must-see.
