Season 4.5 premieres Sept. 12. In a secret, high-tech laboratory, a famous man toils over some truly peculiar, and probably completely unnecessary, experiments. Outside, his two dimwitted sons insult each other and ride around on their motorized scooters.  And an impossibly muscle bound man dreams of killing people and having sex with women, at the same time, if that’s possible.  But The Venture Brothers, created by Jackson Publick III and Doc Hammer, is about more than a couple of dorky kids, their father and a trained killer.  It’s about action, adventure, intrigue and some very odd villains.

What happened in 2009?

New Faces: Kevin Conroy (whose Batman voice is famous), Seth Rogen, John Hodgman and Patton Oswalt lend their voices to characters this season.

Where We Left Off: The third season ended in a full-scale war involving Monarch, Hank Venture’s Clones and the Office of Secret Intelligence. Brock Samson quit the OSI, and Henchman 24 perished in a blaze.

What to Expect: Will Brock Samson return to work for the Venture family? Will the Monarch finally kill Dr. Venture? And will Hank and Dean Venture finally get a piece of the action? This season introduces a few of the secretive members of Council 13, and the audience will finally meet Captain Sunshine, Monstroso, Dr. Orpheus’ ex-wife and her current husband, all of whom have been talked about but never seen.
