What’s It All About? When the cops stop investigating the mysteries of unidentified murder victims, a group of dedicated citizens — The Forgotten Network — takes over. The pilot of producer Jerry Bruckheimer’s latest was reshot and recast, with Slater taking over for Rupert Penry-Jones in the lead role of Alex Donovan, a former detective haunted by the disappearance of his child. In a narrative twist, the murder victims will be telling their own stories, and viewers will see how they arrived at their fatal circumstances. Slater says the show packs a more emotional punch than other procedurals. “I’m a huge fan of those shows [but] one of the elements I felt had been missing from some of those shows was the heart, human element. That’s what The Forgotten certainly has for me. I did get emotionally involved as I was reading it and as I was watching it.”
