Where We Left Off: Those wacky physicists were heading to the North Pole to conduct research. “We literally put them on ice for the summer,” creator Chuck Lorre says.
What to Expect: “We will go ahead and explore the relationship between Penny and Leonard (Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki),” Lorre says. “We are committed to going further in that relationship, and that ripples through the whole series. That will affect everyone, if one of them is in a real relationship.” For sharp-eyed physicists: The equations on the white board do keep changing, as a professor of physics continues to work on problems.
What To Expect: A move to Thursday nights, for one thing. Also, former Blossom actress Mayim Bialek will be back as Amy Farrah Fowler, who might as well be the female Sheldon. Wil Wheaton could return as well, and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak has been confirmed as a guest star.
In the season premiere, "The Robotic Manipulation," Penny finds herself along for the ride on Sheldon's first date ever. Meanwhile, Wolowitz finds a new use for a robotic arm.
