A lot of good things have happened to this guy, but the best may have been getting shot to death by Joe Pesci in Martin Scorsese’s Goodfellas, which led to his Emmy-winning role in HBO’s The Sopranos. He’s been busy ever since, and after 2008’s turn in Life on Mars, he’s back behind a detective’s shield, playing by far the strongest character in ABC’s Detroit 1-8-7.
