What’s It All About? TBS is looking to carve out a spot in the late-night comedy/variety genre with this show hosted by comedian Lopez, who calls himself "an agent of change" on the pm talker landscape. If the PR materials are any indication, this one's for people who aren't looking for something to soothe them to sleep in the 11pm time slot, with it's street-party set, eye-popping colors and an audience that's up on its feet. Whether the show truly distinguishes itself from the rest of the late-night pack remains to be seen, but judging from a highlight clip on the Lopez Tonight web site that features an exchange between the host and Samuel L. Jackson about recording a tamed-down audio loop for Jackson's iconic film "Pulp Fiction," the conversations could get pretty monkey fightin' funny.
What To Expect: Lopez moves to midnight (Eastern time) to make room for Conan O’Brien. Aside from the new time slot, expect more of the same from Lopez, who hopes to build on the healthy audience of his late-night talk show during its sophomore season.
