Where We Left Off: In the fourth-season finale, Charlie (Charlie Day) wrote a musical based on two songs he wrote last season, with the goal of getting the coffeehouse waitress he was stalking to marry him – but he failed.
What to Expect: Per FX: “Buckle up as the gang goes on a road trip. Be sure to take notes when Dennis (Glenn Howerton) reveals his secret method for seduction. From wrestling for the returning troops to stimulating the economy to sneaking into the World Series, there’s no shortage of scheming for the staff at Paddy’s Pub. Here’s taste of what’s to come: in vitro fertilization, food fetishes, interventions, drinking games, Internet dating, a whole lot of cats and Greenman.”
What To Expect: More debauchery, douchebaggery and depravity at Paddy’s Pub, for sure. Speaking of which, based on some clips that we have seen, the McPoyles will be making another appearance this season. Beyond that, a Halloween episode will be based around the mystery of who got Dee pregnant — a plotline derived after Olson (who is married to costar and series co-creator McElhenney) got pregnant in real life. Other topics tackled by the gang will include gay marriage, divorce and animal rights.
