What’s It All About? Hellcats would like us grownups to believe it’s about a driven group of Memphis college kids who have to win the cheerleading championships or they’ll lose their scholarships and go home without completing their fine (fictional) Lancer University education. But mostly it seems to be an unabashedly entertaining Mean Girls meets Odd Couple vehicle to let street-smart hottie Marti (former teen pop sensation Michalka) and relentlessly peppy Texan Savannah (High School Musical’s Tisdale) pull off some killer dance moves to mildly inappropriate music. Hey, zillions of otherwise rational adults are obsessed over the belting, boogieing teens of Glee — maybe this time, it’s the cheer squad’s turn.
