What’s It All About? Syfy’s Ghost Hunters beware – a new paranormal team is arriving on the TV scene. This team combines their unique, eclectic and often-conflicting skills to solve unexplained paranormal phenomena in haunted locations across America. The team consists of Steve DiSchiavi, a homicide detective, and Amy Allan, a psychic communicator, who compete against each other (they hide their methods and findings for each case from each other), until the results are revealed to the home owner.

In the Season 5 premiere episode, the guys head to the rural Midwest to clash with the demonic forces at the Ashmore Estates.

What To Expect: In the Season 5 premiere episode, the guys head to the rural Midwest to clash with the demonic forces at the Ashmore Estates. In 1870, the Ashmore Estates was a poor house, filled with social outcasts. After almost a century of countless deaths, the estates were then modified to be a psychiatric hospital in 1959. Some of the worst patients from another psych ward were sent here to continue their tortured existence. In 1986, Ashmore closed for good, and ever since, it’s been plagued with a demonic presence. While there, Zak, Nick and Aaron hope to discover these evil entities in order to learn more about their malicious ways.

Also this season, the trio will take a deeper dive into the culture and history of these spooky locations before the overnight ghost investigation occurs, visiting never-before-investigated locations. After completing over a hundred investigations and 64 episodes of the series, the trio takes their acquired ghost tracking skills to the next level — uncovering even more gripping scientific evidence – as they become more skilled at taunting and using equipment to engage the other side.

The stories behind museum artifacts are brought to light in this new Travel Channel series.

American museums hold treasures of the past but, as this series proves, behind many of them are tales of scandal, mystery, murder and intrigue. Every episode looks at the background of different artifacts, such as a diary from an arctic exploration, a stone giant thought to be the remnant of a race of enormous people, the Fiji mermaid, and a futuristic house that almost changed the world.

What to Expect: Just as you might expect, look for more of the same in a show where “more” is always the operative word, as host Adam Richman travels the country in search of eateries where the food is popular, delicious and ample in portion size – which makes up the daunting eating challenge in each episode, where the issue is volume, volume, volume! Not that Richman eats that way in his everyday life. “I’m an intelligent guy, and I think that if you take steps to stave off the potentially adverse effect of eating these things, you really can have your cake and eat it, too,” he says.

Finland's award-winning cult hit comes to American audiences. The series features the most outrageous practices found in the most off-the-beaten-path destinations on earth, as discovered by hosts Riku Rantala and Tuomas "Tunna" Milonoff.

What’s It All About? Finland’s award-winning cult hit comes to American audiences. The series features the most outrageous practices found in the most off-the-beaten-path destinations on earth. With no limits to their daring and imagination, backpackers Riku Rantala and Tuomas “Tunna” Milonoff pair up as the show’s two-man-crew to bring viewers a raw and unscripted definition of extreme travel.

Traveling to the strangest places on earth to satisfy their burning curiosity for the rare and unknown, Riku and Tunna partake in the forbidden pastimes of a barrage of different cultures, fully immersing themselves in the most intense and unusual activities. From interacting with beautiful human-like robots and staying in a fetish hotel in Japan; to exploring their unconscious demons with indigenous tribal medicine in Brazil; to dancing disco in sync with 1200 prison inmates in the Philippines; the pair approaches each challenge with an infectious sense of fun, dismissing all rules and often risking their safety to discover the native culture.

Included in every episode is a segment called ‘Mad Cook,’ featuring the most abnormal delicacies in each locale. Sampling everything from dancing octopus, boiled leeches, and giant earth worms; a playful game of rock, paper, scissors determines the winner, with the loser consuming all parts of the dish to fully engage in the authentic customs.

Episodes run through November 9 and include Riku and Tunna’s trips to Brazil, South East Asia, Japan, Russia, Philippines, China, Papua New Guinea, India, Togo, and Yemen.

Andrew Zimmern looks at bizarre things, including underground cultures, outrageous customs, ceremonies, etiquette and rituals.

Perhaps gross food isn’t enough for Mr. Zimmern. In this new series, he seeks an even larger world of bizarre things, including underground cultures, outrageous customs, ceremonies, etiquette and rituals. With shows like Taboo, Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations and Zimmern’s own Bizarre Foods succeeding with viewers, it looks like the appetite is there for more shows such as this. How long you can maintain your actual appetite after watching, though, is another question.

Things get off to a wild start in episode one, which finds Zimmern in Cuba participating in a Santeria ritual that leaves him covered in blood, devouring large tree rats and discovering how to grow world-class tobacco.
