Napoleon Dynamite

Based on the eminently quotable cult classic film, FOX premieres an animated series of Napoleon Dynamite in early 2012. Fans of the movie can get excited about this series, as the original cast — Jon Heder, Aaron Ruell, Efren Ramirez, Tina Majorino, Sandy Martin, Jon Gries and Diedrich Bader — will voice their characters. The film’s creators, Jared and Jerusha Hess, also serve as executive producers on the series. Guest voices include Jennifer Coolidge, Sam Rockwell and Jemaine Clement. So with all the pieces in place, can Napoleon capture the magic again? Do the chickens have large talons? (The answer, we think, is yes.)

Death Valley

This new horror/comedy series uses a documentary style to follow the agents of LAPD’s Undead Task Force (UTF) as they try to capture the vampires, werewolves, zombies and other supernatural creatures that roam the streets of California’s San Fernando Valley. A year ago, zombies started showing up in the Valley. They soon brought the werewolves and vampires with them. UTF agents prowl the streets followed by a cameraman and squeamish sound guy, capturing it all on film as if it were an episode of COPS. But instead of busting meth-heads wearing wifebeaters, these police officers literally bust zombie heads with baseball bats. The series alternates between comic scenes (usually of the cliched cop-comedy variety) and extreme violence, blood and gore. Storylines include UTF agents recovering bloodmobiles stolen by vampires and breaking up a blood-for-sex vampire prostitution ring. In one of the series’ continuing storylines, a female UTF agent goes undercover at a teenage party to infiltrate a ring of vampires.

What’s It All About? Teenager Mondo Brando (Gad) and his hot mom move from New Jersey to a California beach community. Mondo is short, fat and a little awkward, which doesn’t make him a big hit with the ladies. Thankfully, he finds some loyal friends in surfer dude Woodie (Brody) and nerd Wadska. Together, the guys hatch schemes to chase girls and ride the waves. With rapid-fire jokes, sight gags and more cutaways than a typical Family Guy episode, there’s plenty to feel good about in Good Vibes.

What’s It All About? This new animated series puts together several Marvel Comics heroes — Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, The Hulk, Ant-Man/Giant Man and Wasp — in a team to save the world when one hero is just not enough. To introduce the team’s core members, Disney XD will roll out five-and-a-half minute micro-episodes, focusing on the backstory, allies and nemeses of the heroes before the Avengers were formed. The micro-episodes will air during Avengers Week, Oct. 11-15, with four episodes stacked each night at 8:30pm ET/PT.

This CG-animated comedy series follows the intergalactic adventures of Sheen Guevera Estevez, the hyperactive kid from Nick’s hit TV series The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius. Planet Sheen finds Sheen stranded in outer space after he accidentally “borrows” a rocket and crash lands on the planet Zeenu, a world of limited technology that is inhabited by not-too-bright creatures and ruled by an Emperor who becomes fascinated with Sheen.

What’s It All About? This animated comedy is from Butch Hartman (The Fairly OddParents). It centers around Dudley Puppy (voiced by iCarly’s Jerry Trainor), a gung-ho, dim-witted dog who finds himself accidentally thrust into the role of secret agent when he’s recruited by the super-secret, crime-fighting organization, T.U.F.F. (Turbo Undercover Fighting Force). He partners with Kitty Katswell, a feline superspy who is an amazing kung-fu and weapons expert. Naturally, they don’t get along, but together they protect their hometown of Petropolis and the rest of the world against the evil animal organization, D.O.O.M. (Diabolical Order of Mayhem).
