Premieres: September 23
Airs: Fridays, 10pm
Network: CBS
Who Is In It? Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan
Where We Left Off: The crew took down the Blue Templar, but Malevsky killed himself before telling Frank who killed Frank’s son.
What To Expect: Frank (Selleck) will get off to a rocky start in his relationship with the new liberal NYC mayor (David Ramsey).
What’s It All About? The former Hawaii P.I. and New Kid on the Block star as Frank and Danny Reagan, a father and son duo from a lengthy bloodline of NYC cops — including Frank’s pop, his youngest boy and another son mysteriously killed in the line of duty. The show seems to want to be both a deeply felt family drama and a gritty crime hour but — at least in the pilot — it never lingered long enough in either camp to make much of an impact, despite its powerhouse cast. Still, a late-in-the-episode addition to the plotline concerning a secret society of murderous cops known as the Blue Templar (that may have a Reagan in its ranks) could make this worth a second look.
